Research questions

The Enquiring Minds research programme addressed three questions under three main headings:

Understanding research, innovation and knowledge creation

Can we create a common vocabulary to define and evaluate collaborative research, innovation and knowledge creation that can be used to help the education community foster young people’s abilities in these areas?

Creating the conditions for research, innovation and knowledge creation

What are the tools and contexts that best enable young people to act as researchers, innovators and knowledge creators?

What are the barriers and levers to sharing models of research, innovation and knowledge creation within a school and with different schools?

Understanding the impact of research, innovation and knowledge creation

To what extent does children’s collaborative research and innovation in schools affect their attitudes, aspirations and achievements in other areas of their life, and the cultures and practices of their schools and communities?
